Showtime Damion, whose real name is Damion Johnson, is a UK-based dancehall artist who started his career as a DJ with the Showtime sound system in East London. He began his professional music career around 2008 after the street reception to his first song, “Reality,” inspired him to continue. Since then, he has released numerous singles, collaborated with major producers, and gained regular rotation on airwaves in both the UK and Jamaica. 
  • Background: Damion Johnson grew up in Mandeville, Jamaica, before relocating to East London as a child.
  • Early Career: He first gained experience in the music scene as a DJ for the East London-based Showtime sound system.
  • Musical Debut: He officially began his career as a “singjay” (a Jamaican term for a vocalist who sings and deejays). His first recorded song was “Reality,” which was featured on the Alter Ego rhythm from TJ Records.
  • Career Highlights:
    • His song “Reality” received a positive reception, encouraging him to continue his music career.
    • He has released several singles, such as “Live My Life” and “Owner Boss”.
    • “Owner Boss” was featured on the Cure Pain rhythm and received regular rotation on radio in both Jamaica and England.
    • He has worked with Mastermind Entertainment and Twilight Music Group Productions to promote his music.
